STOP Smoking Alarm does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything you record stays on your device.
The cigarettes you log, your reflections, your reasons and triggers, your settings and your craving records are stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone. They are never transmitted anywhere. We cannot see them, and neither can anyone else.
If you delete the app, that information is deleted with it. You can also erase everything at any time from Settings, under "Restart onboarding and erase local data".
If you choose to connect Apple Health, the app reads your daily step count and nothing else, so it can show your steps alongside a walk. This is optional, it is read-only, and the app never writes to Health during normal use. Step data is displayed on your device and is not stored or sent anywhere. You can withdraw permission at any time in the Health app.
Reminders such as the first-cigarette alarm are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. There are no push notifications and no server is involved, so no information about you is sent in order to deliver them.
Subscriptions and the lifetime option are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Some craving-support suggestions can open other apps on your device, such as Contacts, Apple Music, or a news website in your browser. The app opens them and passes nothing about you. Once you are in another app or website, that provider's privacy policy applies.
STOP Smoking Alarm is intended for adults who smoke. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
STOP Smoking Alarm provides behavioural support. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional healthcare. If you have concerns about your health, please speak to a doctor or a local stop-smoking service.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
